Do you have what it takes to thrive in a unique office environment? The ADC is seeking an energetic financial professional to serve a key role in a Payroll unit that supports 300
sworn and civilian employees.
This position will also be responsible for general accounting tasks like performing bank reconciliations and will cross-train to be able to provide assistance and support to other finance sections as needed.
Qualified individuals will have prior payroll experience and an understanding of labor laws and regulations.

ABOUT THIS ROLE:
The candidate hired to fill this Administrative Specialist position will be responsible for the following:
Payroll time entry for 300
employees paid on a biweekly basis.
Provide customer service by responding to inquiries and working with staff to ensure policies and procedures are followed.
Establish working relationships with other county departments to ensure that our staff are paid correctly.
Create and update spreadsheets in Excel.
Demonstrate general accounting knowledge and skills.
Perform bank reconciliations and other cash handling duties.
Cross-train in other areas of the department to support other finance team members as needed.
KNOWLEDGE:

Departmental functions, policies, and procedures.
Applicable Federal, State, and local laws, rules, regulations, codes, and/or statutes.
Modern office procedures and equipment.
Recordkeeping principles.

Providing customer service.
Monitoring and maintaining administrative budgets Interpreting and applying applicable laws, rules, and regulations.

Using a computer and related software applications.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or G.

and 2 years of related experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to pass local, state, and federal background check and have a valid driver's license.
Must be able to pass polygraph and a pre-employment physical.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Positions in this class typically require:
reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Sedentary Work:
Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Starting hourly rate, $24.
82 Starting hourly rate beyond minimum is based on verified related work experience.
