The Dale City's Farmers Market is held at the Dale City Commuter Lot and runs from April - December.
This well-established market has over 50 vendors that sell goods ranging from vegetables to bread to plants and attracts thousands of customers throughout the season.
Ideal candidates should enjoy interacting with people, be able to work independently, be comfortable in making operating decisions, have the ability to troubleshoot challenges and are able to work in outdoor weather conditions.
This position is responsible for:
Providing a high level of customer service to both vendors and market customers Maintaining a safe and clean environment regardless of weather conditions Performing visual safety inspection of outdoor areas before vendors and patrons arrive Set up and take down market signs- able to lift at least 35 lbs Maintaining a positive and calm approach with customers and vendors Ability to enforce all Market rules, procedures and policies Resolve conflicts and rule violations as necessary Provide written communication and documentation of all events during each shift Minimum Requirement:

NATURE OF WORK This class is part of the Recreation Job Family.
Incumbents performs routine work in connection with various recreation programs or activities.
Work is performed under close supervision with specific instructions provided as to the duties to be completed, the order of completion and method of completion.
May perform duties as a building/field attendant, lifeguard II, head concessionaire, head cashier, food and beverage supervisor, children's leader or nursery attendant; and providing daily upkeep and light maintenance of equipment and facility.
Distinguishing Characteristics This is an entry-level position that is responsible for providing administrative support and ensuring visitor and participant safety within the facility.
Work is performed in accordance with set procedures and guidelines, and deviation from those guidelines require approval.
May serve as a lead worker.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Must be at least 16 or 18 years old depending on position; Lifeguard, First Aid and/or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification may be required depending on position; May require Federal or State background check.
